We came to Eastern market this morning to do some shopping.

  • Corned Beef Hash with 2 Eggs – Nothing states breakfast to me like a good corned beef hash with some runny eggs. I loved how they add some peppers to this hash to make it spicy. The gooey yolk mixed with potatoes and corned beef. The hashed was flavored well and had a good mixture of beef and potatoes.
  • Toast – The above dish came with this toast which was an english muffin toasted. Very crunchy and tasty with the butter.
  • Eggs Benedict with Crabcake – It hit the spot for the wife. I though the hollandaise sauce was very heavy and the crabcake was a bit masked by the heavy sauce and the egg. The potatoes though were baked very well and full of flavor.
  • Blue Buck Pancakes – Wife and I were gushing about how light and tasty these pancakes were. They didn’t have that heavy flour taste to them. They were airy and the buckwheat and the blueberries made for a good combo. We wish there was a more distinct blueberry taste but it was still nice as is.

Decor: Not much, just some tables and chairs to seat close to 30 people. The line was pretty long but it moved in a reasonable fashion. Guy who took the order was the owner and he seemed pretty jovial.

Overall Assessment: ($, 7/10) – The food was reasonably priced for breakfast. Most of the stuff was great. The eggs benedict could have used some extra work but the pancakes and the corned beef hashes were knockouts. Word of warning, they only take cold hard cash.
